Springwell’s junior section has gone from strength to strength in recent years, with membership now numbering over 60. The emphasis in the junior section is on enjoying running and having fun. However, members from our junior section also regularly take part in races, both locally and in National events.

 

The junior section based in Limavady is run by Bill Deehan and meets on Wednesdays at 6pm and Saturday mornings at 10am at Limavady Grammar School. In Coleraine, the junior section is run by Alistair Bratten and meets on Friday evenings at 5.15pm during the summer and 10am on Saturday mornings during the winter months. Every year the club awards a male and female Junior Runner of the Year award at its Christmas Handicap Race. This year’s winners were Sally Brown and Niamh Tweedie for the female award. Both girls had performed really strongly during the year. Ashley Cairns, who had an outstanding first season with the club, won the male award.
